Carrabba's Team Blythe Takes Atlantic City, NJ by Storm!

Carrabba's Team Blythe came to Atlantic City, NJ, the gambling mecca of the east, with unsure expectations. It was a new sanctioning body for which the team normally does not race which has different rules and regulations, and the odds were stacked against them. The maximum speed for the Carrabba's boat is 69.9 miles per hour according to APBA rules, but in this OPA sanctioned event (Offshore Performance Association) there were boats in our class capable of running 78 miles per hours. So, at best we were hoping for a fourth place finish. But we beat the odds and came in third place and stood proudly on the podium to except our trophy. Atlantic City was a great town to visit for the team. There was a lot to do and because it was so close to home we had many family and friends on hand to cheer us on. The folks from the Turnersville Carrabba showed up to show their support, special thanks to Charlie and Sandy, owners, for all the support. The team was treated to great food and great service ...thanks for a great time. See you next year. The casinos were a perfect backdrop for the race boats. It provided great exposure for all sponsors. The event was well attended by thousands of old and new fans.
